How does our project work?

International Climate Change Solutions Zrt. (ICCS) has developed a strategic template to support the transition in land exploitation, which is essential in the implementation of agriculture that reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
The templates outline a system used for factoring new land exploitation activities that are expected to improve soil carbon levels and sequester carbon in vegetation, thereby producing so-called Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) units.
The templates assist carbon sequestration projects when registering with voluntary carbon certification organizations such as PLAN VIVO, VERRA and GOLD STANDARD, as well as during individual projects, processes and integrations into ETS systems.
The templates are designed to help landowners find practical solutions for regenerative farming and the use of CO2 sequestration technologies.
Information to be included in the templates includes soil types, core sampling, species lists, new activities, risk assessment, sustainability considerations, carbon estimates, as well as monitoring and evaluating the secondary benefits of projects.

We propagate our activities in Hungary through the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology Cluster, which is located in Nógrád county.
Nógrád county has the second smallest area in the country. It is the smallest county in terms of population and it is part of the North Hungarian region, while its county seat is Salgótarján. The area of the county is 2,544 km2, which is only 2.7% of the country’s territory nationwide.
We cooperate with our local production partners and environmentally conscious sports associations, as well as internationally, where our application is already in use by our partners on close to 1 million hectares.
